How To Prepare for your Boudoir Session

Below you'll find some helpful hints to aide you in looking and feeling your best for your photo shoot

Five days before your shoot:

  • Take care of waxing or shaving in the sensitive areas (such as bikini line) at least 2-3 days before your shoot to avoid irritation and redness.
  • Start drinking plenty of water. Hydrated skin is Happy skin
  • Avoid foods which can make you retain water.
  • Do NOT drink alcohol the night before, it will make you puffy the following day.
  • Have your NAILS and TOES done, they do show up in close ups!
  • Tanning is not required, it's all about personal preference and what makes you feel fantastic…if you are planning on tanning before your shoot, make sure you do it a few days before. If you are doing a spray tan…please make sure you do this a couple days before too and that they do an even job on you.
  • Create a Playlist with songs that get you in that mood…Songs that make you feel sexy and beautiful, we all know of songs that get to us in that special way…I will bring a speaker…so just bring your playlist ready to go and we’ll shoot to whatever music does it for you.

The day before your shoot:

  • Wear clear deodorant please.
  • Get a good night sleep!
  • Try on your outfits to make sure they fit properly. Remove all tags and labels.
  • Double-check everything is properly packed and ready for the shoot: heels, jewelry, accessories, props.

The day of your shoot:

  • Wear clear deodorant please.
  • Wear loose clothing before the shoot to prevent marks on the skin. If you own a robe, bring it with you…you might want to wear something over your lingerie while we put together the next shot.
  • When doing your hair please make sure not to have any hair covering your eyes. Eyes are very important in this type of Photography…they will help in setting the mood.
  • If you want to go for a more Sultry Look, have your Make-Up Artist give you Smoky Eyes and a more nude color on your lips. If you want a more Retro Playful look, have your Make-Up Artist line your upper eye lid with a well-defined eyeliner while keeping your shadow light and don’t forget the rich red or burgundy lips…this color depends on the chosen outfits for your Photo Shoot. Do Get Fake Lashes! They work magic and look amazing in Photos.
  • Relax and enjoy your shoot! Negative self talk is not allowed!
